    The official DONi Donbass International News Agency, placed in the Donetsk People's Republic, has faced a temporary stoppage of its informational works due the organizational re-arrangements and structural changes. 


    The DONi News Agency and Press Center will temporarily cease its actions in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republic's on 19.2.2018 and resume its daily reliable coverage of the events in Donbass, news feeds, reports and other international activities as soon as its again possible.


    We are sorry for the unexpected and urgent situation, and we hope to resume back on-line to serve the global audience in the closest future.

    The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic remains tense. The enemy subtly lowered the number of ceasefire violations, however, they increased the application of mortars of various calibers.


    In the Donetsk direction, the areas of Spartak, Staromikhailovka were targeted with five mortar shells of 68 of 82-mm calibre, as well as small arms.


    In the Gorlovka direction, the AFU hit the area of Zaitsevo and Dolomitnoye with 19 120-mm mortar shells, also firing from IFV.


    In the Mariupol direction, Sakhanka locality was targeted. The foe applied mortars of 82-mm calibre, having launched eight mortar shells.

    At a meeting with journalists in Munich on February 17, President of Finland Sauli Niinistö said that his country is ready to join the UN peacekeeping mission in Ukraine if an appropriate decision is reached.


    "This is one of the most serious problems in Europe, therefore, if there is even a small opportunity to solve the crisis, Finland should take part in resolving this crisis," Niinistö said.



    Earlier, Sweden declared its readiness to participate in the peacekeeping mission in Donbass, if Russia and the West agree to this. Belarus also announced its readiness to send peacekeepers to the territory of Donbass.

    Ukrainian troops launched more than five tons of various ammos on the front-line areas of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) over the past week, DPR Representative Center Chief to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov states.


    "The Ukrainian side launched 5, 32 tons of ammos on the DPR territory from February 12 to 19,» said the Chief.



    According to the JCCC, during the period, altogether, there were registered 58 ceasefire violations on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

    A number of "authoritative" European countries stand against the US supplies of arms to Ukraine and are unwilling to join, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated in an interview with Russia-1 TV channel.


    "Europe is not silent, but quietly and non-publicly objects [against deliveries of US weapons to Ukraine]," Lavrov said. "According to the information we possess, in their talks with the United States they express disagreement in response to Washington's urgent demands that Europe join these supplies."

    The situation in the Donetsk People's Republic remains tense.


    In the Donetsk direction, the enemy used various types of grenade launchers and small arms against the Petrovsky district of Donetsk.


    In the Gorlovka direction, the enemy fired four 120-mm and ten 82-mm mortar shells at the areas of Zaitsevo, Dolomitnoye and Mikhailovka settlements.

    Ukrainian military committed  seven ceasefire violations over the past 24 hours, DPR Operational Command reports. 


    “In the last 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) committed 7 ceasefire violations. The areas of five localities of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) underwent shelling on the part of Ukrainian punishers,” pointed out a representative of the DPR Command. 



    He added that the enemy had applied mortars of 120mm and 82mm caliber, different types of grenade launchers and small arms when shelling the DPR territory.

    President of Ukraine Pyotr Poroshenko accused Russia of trying to "destroy democracy" and stated that the Russian flag "should not be flying anywhere".


    Speaking at the 54th Munich Security Conference, Poroshenko spoke out against holding a presidential election in the Crimea and restoring Russia's powers in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Ukrainian president called Northern Stream-2 the "political and energy expansion" of Moscow and the project that "has nothing to do with economic interests."

    The Ministry of Defense of Belarus is ready, if necessary, to allocate a peacekeeping contingent to Donbass, the head of the department, Andrey Ravkov, said on Wednesday.


    The official Minsk has repeatedly stated its readiness, if necessary, to send its peacekeeping contingent to Donbass, but so far no such need has arisen.


    According to Ravkov, Belarus has its own peacekeeping contingent with the staff strength of 100 people, half of which are permanent and half are variable.


    "They are studying English, preparing in foreign countries and adopting experience," Ravkov said.
