The DPR and LPR leaders, Aleksandr Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky arrived in Crimea, said the State Duma member, deputy head of the Crimea Russian community, Andrey Kozenko.
“It means a lot to us that during the activities dedicated to Pereyaslav Rada, our brother republics are here, and by that we want to show our unbreakable spirit bounds, show that Crimea people care about what happens in Donbass,” underlined Kozenko.
Donbass delegates arrived to Crimea on the invitation of the Crimea Russian community. Apart from Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky, heads of the DPR and LPR People’s Councils, Denis Pushilin and Vladimir Degtyarenko arrived.
During the visit that lasts to the 20th of January, several activities will take place, namely: the joint press conference is planned in the Crimea press-centre of “Russia today”, solemn meeting in Simferopol near the Bohdan Khmelnytsky monument, dedicated to the Pereyaslav Rada, and the Slavic unity forum “S Rossieiy Naveky” (With Russia Forever).
“Several political statements will be made on the forum, where the Crimea Russian Community will sign the agreement on the cooperation with the social union “Mir Luganshine” (Peace to Lugansk),” the deputy underlined.
The Pereyaslav Rada took place on 18 January of 1654 in the city of Pereyaslav. During it, Ukrainian сossacks led by Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky, the historical decision on the Ukraine coming under the rule of the Moscow czar Aleksey Romanov.
