The Ukrainian government is proud of "verification", i.e. the reduction of social benefits, which deprives the victims of the Chernobyl disaster of all privileges.
It was stated by Yaroslav Moskalenko from the MP group “The will of the people” at a meeting of the Conciliation Board of the leaders of factions and chairmen of committees of the Verkhovnaya Rada of Ukraine, reports The Politnavigator.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. The President issued a decree declaring 2016 the year of honoring liquidators of this catastrophe and of the memory of its victims. Before the adoption of the budget we adopted a relevant resolution, each of the points of which is important in terms of allocating financial, social and medical support to the victims of the accident. But in terms of funding these projects, the government budgeted only holding an international forum and preparing a collection of its materials.
According to Yaroslav Moskalenko, the MPs of the Verkhovnaya Rada abolished the borders of the Chernobyl zone established in the Soviet times.
The position and policy of the Ministry of Finance is clear to me; at a recent conference Madame Yaresko said that she was proud of having reduced taxes by verifying social benefits. I would just like to remind that in December last year, by the law 76-8 on amendment of certain laws, we did not only destroy the Chernobyl benefits, but also abolished the borders of the Chernobyl zone.
The politician also said that he would like to see in the near future the Cabinet hold a meeting in the Ivankov and Polesie regions that border the Chernobyl zone.
You can not even imagine the circumstances in which we offer these people to live. According to the law on the regime of the territory, any industrial construction is prohibited there and, hence, the creation of jobs. A job can be found only in the service sector which employs mostly women. By adopting this law we canceled the Chernobyl children's meals and their only opportunity to go out of the zone for recovery as we canceled funding this program. According to statistics, the incidence among children from these areas is 92%.
