The transport and trade blockade of Donbass has already led to the loss of Ukraine's position in the world steel market, as well as to the growth of the cost of coal for enterprises. This was announced today by the leader of the public movement "Ukrainian choice - the right of the people" Viktor Medvedchuk.
"World Steel Association reports that Ukraine quitted the list of top 10 world steel producers for the first time in 25 years of independence in February 2017. The output of steel by Ukrainian producers in February this year fell by 3.6% to 1.9 million tons," he said.
Medvedchuk also drew attention to the rapid growth in prices for coal products, as another result of the blockade of Donbass. So, the coal of the scarce anthracite group increased in price from 1757 hryvnia per ton to 2222 hryvnia per ton (up to $ 81.9).
"Thus, the overall increase in coal prices in Ukraine has already amounted to 26.5%, but this is only the beginning." The main economic consequences of the trade and transport blockade of the Donbass are still ahead," he said.
