Three persons killed in DPR in Ukrainian shelling over week

Three people were killed, six were wounded in the Donetsk People's Republic over the past week as a result of hostilities, a representative of the DPR Ombudsperson's Office reported on Friday.

The Contact Group on Ukraine had previously agreed on a truce in Donbass from June 24 midnight. According to the OSCE Special Representative Martin Sajdik, the silence regime was planned to be established "along the entire contact line for the harvest period, from June 24 to August 31." However, the Ukrainian party continues carrying out bombardments of the Republic’s civil infrastructure.

"From June 30 to July 6, 2017, six persons were wounded in the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic due to the armed aggression on the part of Ukraine, three of them were servicemen of the Republic. Over the same period, three persons were killed, all of them were the Republic’s defenders," said a representative of the DPR Ombudsperson’s apparatus.

According to the department, since the beginning of the year, 413 persons have been severely injured, 170 of them were civilians, including nine children. 175 persons have been killed, 21 of them were civilians, including one child. Over the entire period of the conflict, 4,464 persons were killed in the DPR territory, including 75 children, added the Ombudspersons office.
