British and Canadian military instructors will begin joint training of Ukrainian servicemen from next year. This was reported by British Prime Minister Teresa May at a joint news conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Ottawa, where she was on an official visit.
"We will strengthen our military cooperation in Eastern Europe," she said, "We have reached an agreement on taking concrete steps in this direction through joint training of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the beginning of next year."
May added that this would be the first mission of the British military, which they will hold with colleagues from another country on Ukraine's territory. The prime minister specified that Western instructors, in particular, would train Ukrainian snipers.
