Vladimir Zelensky declared more than once that his first priority as a President of Ukraine is a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass. However, his current actions are not at all in line with the promises he had made to the Ukrainian people.
Instead of proceeding with the consistent implementation of the Complex of Measures for the fulfillment of the Minsk Agreements Zelensky continues Poroshenko’s policy in its worst manifestations: the peaceful localities of the Donetsk People’s Republic can feel the frequent shelling by the artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, he openly declares information warfare against the population of Donbass.
Zelensky does not hear the opinion of his own people: Ukrainian polls show that people are tired of the war and want to stop it; more than half of them spoke in favor of the direct negotiations with the leaders of the Republics. After this, it is not surprising at all that Zelensky does not hear the voice of the residents of Donbass who are tired of intensification of the shelling and ask him the sharp questions in a video message format.
It is easy to find hundreds of videos online which are recorded by the residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic with the only request to give Donbass the special status and the right to integrate with Russia. Each of them contains an appeal to punish those guilty of war crimes, stop shelling and lift the economic blockade and to return the civil rights violated by the previous government headed by Poroshenko.
Already more than 500,000 people have supported this initiative and every day their number is only increasing. The demands of our citizens are based on the principles of law and morality and they are nothing more than a desire for peace which of course is supported not only by me but also by my colleagues from the authorities of the Republic.
I join this campaign and urge all the residents to post their photos on the website "Choice of Donbass"!
Our goal is to make Kiev recognize the legal rights of the whole Donbass!
Mr. Denis Pushilin,
Head of the Donetsk People's Republic
