Poroshenko: UN mission deployment on demarcation line in Donbass unacceptable

Ukraine does not accept the option of deploying the UN security mission on the parties' demarcation line in Donbass. This was announced by Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko.

"Of course, the Russian proposal [on the deployment of the UN mission to the contact line in Donbass] is absolutely unacceptable," Poroshenko said.

He also once again spoke against the participation in the mission of Russian representatives.

"It is absolutely unacceptable for Russia to be a part of the peacekeeping mission," Poroshenko emphasized.

In his opinion, Moscow "wants to use peacekeepers as a kind of bodyguards for the staff of the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, which is absolutely contrary to the [UN] Charter."
