Over the past 24 hours the situation in the LPR People’s Militia responsibility zone deteriorated, but remains controllable.
AFU servicemen violated the ceasefire regime eleven times. Ukrainian military shelled our units’ positions in the vicinity of the localities of KALINOVKA, LOGVINOVO, KALINOVO and LOZOVOYE. Fire was conducted with mortars of 120mm and 82mm caliber, IFVs, grenade launchers and small arms, including the sniper ones.
Altogether, 391 mortar-shells and grenades were launched.
We registered that by 24 February in the so-called “ATO” zone, units were placed in enhanced mode of combat duty in connection with the festive events dedicated to the anniversary of the coup d'état in 2014. It was revealed that due to bringing the AFU units to the enhanced mode in the units of the tank battalion of the AFU 54th brigade there is registered the servicemen shortage to be on duty.
Morale and discipline in the units and sub-units of the AFU remain at a critically low level. There is a growing number of crimes connected with bullying between officers and the brigade’s private corps.
Thus, in the vicinity of Popasnaya locality the soldier of the 2nd battalion, 54th brigade, in a state of alcoholic intoxication, during his being on duty, threatening the brigade commander with personal violence, opened fire with a machine gun. It was possible to disarm the offender only after the AFU military police attire arrival on the scene.
Also, according to our information, since February 19 in the vicinity of Popasnaya settlement there worked Administrative Support Tactical Force Command Commission ‘Lugansk’ with the aim of checking provision of the units of the AFU 24th brigade with food-stuffs, due to the increasing cases of theft. According to the audit results, there were opened five criminal cases against officers of the brigade.
We continue to hold trainings on the People's Militia ranges. During the battle readiness trainings, particular attention is paid to working out standards concerning weapons and special trainings.
Today, on my own behalf, and on behalf of the People's Militia Command I’m congratulating all those who are defending the borders of our Republic on the Defender’s Day and all those who defended us at different times and will continue to defend our homeland!!! We have a great responsibility for the safety of our loved ones, for peace in our homes. We cannot let our families down. Comrades, congratulations!
