Lugansk Defense: Situation Report, 05/28/2017

The situation in the responsibility zone of the LPR People's Militia underwent no essential changes and remains tense. Over the past day, the enemy committed four violations of the ceasefire.

Our units' positions near the localities of Kalinovka, Krasny Yar and Lozovoye were shelled. When attacking, the Armed Forces of Ukraine applied the 152mm and 82mm artillery, grenade launchers, and small arms. In total, 199 projectiles and shells were launched onto the Republic's territory.

Today, the Ukrainian party again failed to comply with the conditions for the implementation of the Framework Agreement for the disengagement of forces and assets in the section No. 1 near Stanitsa Luganskaya locality. All the requirements of this agreement have been observed on the part of the LPR People’s Militia. We are still ready to fulfil these requirements, but only simultaneously with the Ukrainian party.

The AFU does not cease reconnaissance along the entire contact line using unmanned aerial vehicles, which is prohibited by the Minsk Agreements. Thus, in the vicinity of Schastie village, in the responsibility zone of the 14th AFU brigade, a drone was detected when conducting reconnaissance along the contact line. This evidences that the AFU command plans criminal provocative shellings in this direction with application of both artillery and mortars.

We, in our turn, adhere to the ‘silence regime’ and observe the Minsk Agreements. Our actions are aimed at solving the conflict in Donbass peacefully.

Official representative of the LPR People’s Militia Lieutenant-Colonel Andrey Marochko,
