An LPR coalminer was killed overnight as Kiev forces shelled Kirovsk, reported local administration's officials.
"A man was killed by shelling. The 48-year-old Bezhanovskaya coalmine employee died of fatal shrapnel wounds on his way to work. The body’s at the scene; an expert examination is due," reported the council's representative.
"The shelling also damaged 60 newly replaced vinyl windows in the trauma, gynecology and surgery units of town hospital," he added.
Supposedly, the town came under fire from the Novozvanovka direction, according to the report.
Kirovsk administration head Gennady Kartsev went to the scene of the accident at 7:00 a.m. on January 24, together with Emergencies Ministry services officials, police officers and housing and utilities organisations representatives.
An investigation into the overnight shelling is ongoing, and journalists have come to the scene.
"Residential houses in vicinity of the impact site reportedly sustained damage to roofs and fencing. OSCE personnel drove up to the scene at about 10:00 a.m. on January 24," said a local official.
