Another group of 12 Lithuanian military instructors on Saturday departed for two months to Ukraine. This was reported by the press representative of the commander of the armed forces of the republic, Captain Donatas Suchochis.
"The unit went to Ukraine by civil administrative vehicles, it will go to the destination through the territory of Poland," he said.
Within two months, Lithuanian specialists will be training the Ukrainian military at the Yavoriv training ground in the Lvov region, along with colleagues from the United States, Canada and Poland. The tasks of the representatives of Lithuania include the training of commanders in the planning of military operations, the training of instructors in sniper shooting, and the organization of practical exercises on the use of automatic grenade launchers and the actions of motorized infantry units.
12 people from the battalion of the Uhlans of the motorized infantry brigade "Geležinis Vilkas" ("Iron Wolf") were sent to Ukraine. Istructors of this unit have already been sent to Ukraine in 2015, when they trained the national guard for two months.
From the international military missions of Lithuania for 2018 by the decree of the parliament the most mass participation is envisaged on the territory of Ukraine. Up to 60 Lithuanian soldiers can be provided to train representatives of the armed forces of this country.
