Italian media claim that the Italian photographer Andrea Rocquelli, Italian photographer who perished together with his translator Andrei Mironov near Slavyansk in 2014, was killed by the Ukrainian military on the orders of Kiev, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes.
"Three and a half years on, the perpetrators of this crime have not been punished. However, now this case has every chance to get off the ground thanks to the Italian Lamezia live edition, which published the article under the headline "Exclusive: Italian photojournalist Andrea Rocquelli killed as unfavourable person." According to the publication, "Andy" (Rocquelli's name in professional circles) brought upon himself the wrath of Kiev for the only fact that he had decided to show and tell the truth about the war in Donbass and the terrible crimes the Kiev regime had 'tarnished itself' by.
Journalists refer to an official document addressed to the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Yuri Allerov, which gives a fresh look not only at the death of Rocquelli and Mironov, but also speaks in favour of the arrest of the senior sergeant of the National Guard of Ukraine, Vitaly Markiv, detained at the Bologna airport in June this year on the suspicion of the journalists' murder. In addition to the name of Markiv, who participated in the so-called "anti-terrorist operation" on the day of Andy's assassination, this document provides in black and white the names of nine more soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) appearing as witnesses in the Rocquelli's case," the publication says.
In addition, in the document there is mentioned the fact of their having being instructed by the National Guard commanders, who, in fact, forbade their subordinates to make statements countering the official version of the Ukrainian party.
Italian reporters hope that the discovered facts will be taken into account by the investigators and will help them bring the perpetrators to justice.
