Hollande regrets anti-Russian sanctions

The President of France François Hollande stated that he regrets deterioration in the relations with Russia and that lifting the anti-Russian sanctions is in common interests.

"The Ukrainian crisis exerted influence on Russia’s relations with the European countries. In my opinion, the situation deserves a regret as because of sanctions afflicts damage to all parties, in particular, to joint economic projects. Therefore all of us are interested in finding the best way out of this situation as soon as possible," stated Hollande when speaking to the French ambassadors at the country’s Foreign Affairs Ministry’s annual conference.

He noted that the relations of France with Russia had always been close and reliable. Hollande also expressed hope that the high level relations will be resumed successfully, having noted that the Russian Federation, nevertheless, should approach the issue of crises’ settlement with responsibility, in particular, in Syria and Ukraine.
