Yesterday, following the talks of the Contact Group, Russia's permanent representative at the talks, Boris Gryzlov, said that the Contact Group members, guided by previous agreements, confirmed their commitment to adherence to a comprehensive, sustainable and indefinite ceasefire from 00:00 on December 23, 2017, Kiev time, that is from 01:00 of Donetsk time.
The Donetsk People's Republic, too, has confirmed its adherence to the agreement on a ceasefire in Donbass since December 23. This was announced by Victoria Talakina - the press secretary of the DPR delegation's chief, the Chairman of the People's Council of the Republic Denis Pushilin.
"The main issue at the final meeting of the Contact Group in the expiring year was the issue of security on the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays. Taking into account the growing dynamics of shelling, and only yesterday, according to the data of the OSCE SMM, the number of violations amounted to about 6,500, and, realizing the need to organize an ongoing silence regime, the Donetsk People's Republic confirmed its adherence to the ceasefire from 00:00 on 23.12.17 (Kiev time)," Talakina noted.
According to her, the representatives of the Republic also stressed the need to issue appropriate orders, providing disciplinary measures against violators.
