Everyone will be punished: Ukraine prepares special law for DPR, LPR people

Ukrainian deputies are drafting a bill "On Collaborators", which provides for the persecution of residents of the DPR and the LPR for 25 years in the case of the capture of the Donbass by the army of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This was broadcast on the air of the Ukrainian radio by the lawyer, the head of the public organization "Space of Opportunities" Irina Loyuk.

"The law is ready for today. What to do with those people, as Anton Gerashchenko (former Advisor to Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs - ed.) said, who did not commit very serious crimes and do not have blood on their hands? Just to forgive them for "promoting occupation" is impossible, because it leads to a sense of impunity. Therefore, using the experience of Western countries, using the recommendation of the PACE, we decided that the best way would be to introduce administrative restrictions," Loyuk said.

At the same time, the lawyer stressed that these restrictions would be directed to the rights to occupy certain public positions, participate in elections, to admit to state secrets.

"We have a very large list of restrictions to those people who showed disloyalty towards Ukraine. Everyone will be punished, even public utilities' providers," Loyuk added.

The law allegedly will concern people who held certain positions in state power bodies or organized events in support of the DPR and the LPR.
