The Khartsyzsk’s Silur Steel Wire and Cable Plant started production on the basis of billets made at the Yuzovsky Steel Plant, the press service of the DPR Ministry of Industry and Trade reported on February 1.
"Today [on February 1], the Silur plant launched production on the basis of a high-carbon wire rod manufactured at the Yuzovsky Steel Plant. As a result of the enterprises’ cooperation, the city-forming enterprise of Khartsyzsk had not ceased the production activity," the press service noted.
The beginning of the process was controlled by the Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of the Donetsk People's Republic, Alexei Granovsky. He stressed that before YMZ had never had to produce such billets. To date, Silur has 2,000 tons of raw materials, the plants have already prepared a further technological map.
Let us recall that workers of the Yuzovsky Steel Plant launched the production of raw materials for the Khartsyzsk plant on November 29 last year. According to the Silur leadership, the 2,000 tons of billets received will be enough for two months of continuous work, and for some positions – for three months.
The Khartsyzsk Steel Wire and Cable Factory "Silur" specializes in the manufacture of ropes made of steel, reinforcing wire, mesh. In total, the company is capable of making about 60 types of products, manufactured in accordance with the standards of the Russian Federation (GOST), Ukraine (DSTU), Germany (DIN) and the UK (BS). The plant suspended its work in late 2016. It resumed production in April 2017, but by the end of the year it could completely stop production due to the difficulties in importing raw materials. To date, there are 891 people working at the plant.
