The Defense Ministry of the Donetsk People's Republic is ready to provide investigative bodies with documentary evidence of Ukraine's artillery use when shelling civilians in the village in the DPR south, said Eduard Basurin, Vice-Commander of the DPR Operational Command.
Earlier, the local authorities and the DPR Defense Ministry stated that at the time of celebration of the Victory Day anniversary on May 9, 2017, Ukrainian security forces shelled the settlement of Bezymennoye with mortars and heavy artillery.
"We've come across the documents of the internal investigation and the order of the 3057 unit's commander on punishment for the unauthorized engaging artillery fire by the Azov regiment on Bezymennoye on May 9, 2017, and we are ready to present these documents to the investigative authorities, which are backed up by our reconnaissance, as an evidence for the prosecution," said Basurin.
He also stated that the documents of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that appeared on the Internet due to the "Sprut" community, which mention the involvement of the Azov regiment in the bombing of Bezymennoye, are genuine.
"We confirm that the documents published by the volunteer organization "Sprut" are genuine and will be a great help to initiate new criminal cases against war criminals from the Azov regiment," said Basurin.
