The Kiev forces bombarded the LPR Stakhanov and Pervomaisk with artillery pieces on the night of Tuesday, December 19. As a result of the bombardment of one of the most densely populated areas of Stakhanov, houses sustained damages, gas pipelines were broken. In Pervomaisk, a resident of the city was wounded during the shelling.
"The bombardment was carried out from three directions, Kalinovo was completely cut off power supply, a civilian was wounded in the chest on Potyomkin Street in Pervomaisk, and a gas pipeline caught fire on Potyomkin Street," Sergey Afanasyev, acting head of the Pervomaisk administration, said.
Hundreds of apartments in Stakhanov were left without windows and doors after being fired on by the Kiev troops, the mayor of the city, affected by the artillery fire launched by the AFU, Sergey Zhevlakov said.
"Windows and doors were knocked out in hundreds of apartments, the Yuzhny microdistrict was de-energized, the wires broken, and the substation, which supplies electricity, damaged. A plenty of gas pipelines sustained damages, schools, a clinic were disconnected, etc. About 11 multi-apartment buildings were damaged," he said.
"Three men were wounded, and unfortunately, a 93-year-old woman perished. She had a heart attack caused by the rupture of a shell that exploded near her house," Zhevlakov said.
The Major of Stakhanov noted that the immediate restoration works in the areas affected by the shelling were hampered by the ongoing fire and poor visibility at night.
In total, the Kiev forces committed 13 ceasefire violations over the past day, reported the defense department of the Lugansk People’s Republic.
The areas of Stakhanov, Pervomaisk, Kalinovo and Frunze localities, the villages of Logvinovo, Kalinovka, Zhelobok, Vesyologorovka, Golubovsky, Lozovoye, Nizhneye Lozovoe and Smeloye underwent shelling.
The fire was launched with 152-mm artillery, 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, IFV weapons, mounted anti-tank grenade launchers, automatic grenade launchers, and small arms.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, the official representative of the LPR People's Militia, who came under the artillery fire in Stakhanov, the Kiev forces took advantage of the withdrawal of officers from the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC) from the Republic, in order to bombard the territory of the Republic with impunity.
"Most likely, this was due to the fact that the JCCC representatives had been withdrawn, and there was simply no one to record these crimes. The AFU and criminals took advantage of this moment and carried out this bombardment," he said.
Shortly before the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow is stopping the activities of its representatives to the JCCC due to the difficulties in their work, purposefully created by Kiev. The Ukrainian side also announced the intention to withdraw its representatives to the JCCC from the conflict zone.
