The Head of DPR paid the last respects to the Commander 'Givi' - Video Report

The Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Alexander Zakharchenko, has paid the last respects to the legendary commander, Colonel Mikhail "Givi" Tolstykh in Donetsk city on Friday.

The Republic’s leader came to pay the last respects to the military comrade and gave his words.

“Today we are paying the last respects to our brother, Hero of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Colonel Mikhail Tolstykh. The entire world remembers him as the legendary commander ‘Givi’. He is remembered as the unconquerable warrior, the real son of his own nation, Defender of Donbass,” highlighted the DPR Head.

“ ’Givi’ showed martial spirit, showed Donbass nature. He fought against the Ukrainian punishers with his small squadron and always defeated the enemy in each battle,” underlined Alexander Zakharchenko.

The People’s Council Chairman, Denis Pushilin, recollected the Commander’s brave feats as well. He pointed out that the death of Tolstykh had become tragedy for the whole Republic. Donbass lost the real patriot of its land.

“Our nation, our Republic lost the extraordinary serviceman. Mikhail passed the most dangerous and difficult tests of the war, selflessly fought for freedom of the Donetsk People’s Republic, served his people with dignity. His name remains in the Donbass history and its residents’ heart for a full due,” said Pushilin.
