Violations of freedom of speech and thought by law enforcement agencies have become more frequent in Ukraine recently. This is evidenced by the facts of accusing foreign journalists of anti-Ukrainian propaganda and their subsequent deportation from the country, stated the chairman of the United Nations Monitoring Mission on Human Rights in Ukraine, Fiona Fraser.
"Along with that, we are seriously concerned about the weakening expression of freedom of thought in today's Ukrainian media. More than a year has passed since journalist Pavel Sheremet was murdered, but there is still no progress in the investigation of his death. At the same time, cases of foreign journalists' expulsion from Ukraine for conducting so-called anti-Ukrainian propaganda have started occurring more often," Fiona Fraser noted.
