Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers extends regime of emergency in energy sector for a month

The Government of Ukraine has extended for another month the term of temporary emergency measures in the country's electricity market.

"These emergency measures allow us to stabilize a system that does not have to work for wear and tear, we are doing everything to minimize risks and to remove negative consequences, and yes, the situation here is not easy at all," Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman said at the government meeting.

According to the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Igor Nasalik, as of March 14, coal reserves in TPP storage facilities are 1.755 million tons, of which 1.105 million tons of gas group, 0.65 million tons of anthracite.

"In the absence of supplies of anthracite coal in the last days, 10-15 thousand tons of anthracite coal are used from TPP warehouses every day," he said.
