Ukrainian border guards let dogs loose on OSCE representatives

Observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) were attacked by dogs near the Ukrainian border point, the organization's official website reported.

The incident occurred on September 17 in the Kherson region. When the experts tried to approach the border point, they encountered aggressive dogs. This prevented the patrol from approaching the checkpoint.

The observers asked the border patrol commander to recall the dogs, which he did. However, he then released the dogs twice, which ran after members of the patrol.

The OSCE informed that the observers left the region unscathed.

The SMM is a civilian mission that monitors the situation and draws up reports on what is happening in Donbass. The Minsk agreements establish free access of observers to the border areas.
