Ukraine condemned the holding of elections in Sevastopol, and in this regard called on the international community to tighten sanctions against Russia, says the text of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s statement.
"Ukraine calls on foreign states and international organizations to declare the non-recognition of the results of the so-called elections ... and also to harden consolidated pressure on the Russian Federation, which includes the sanctions’ expansion," says the text of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s statement.
Additionally, the Ministry promised to bring all persons who participated in the preparation and conduction of elections to justice.
On September 10th the Sevastopol governor’s election took place, as well as by-elections to the Crimean parliament and a number of municipalities.
