Russian MFA: Reintegration Law aimed at forcible seizure of Donbass Republics

The entry into force of the Law on Reintegration confirms the Ukrainian authorities’ focus on the violent resolution of the Donbass conflict, a statement published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

"On February 24, 2018, the scandalous law on the so-called ‘reintegration of Donbass’ came into force. Thus, Kiev authorities finally reaffirmed their commitment to the military solution of the conflict in Donbass. By signing the mentioned Law, Pyotr Poroshenko actually unravelled the Minsk agreements by giving the ‘war party’ a free hand," the statement says.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there is no question of direct dialogue with the authorities of the DPR and the LPR, nor of the ways of peaceful settlement of the conflict. At the same time, the document creates conditions for the forcible seizure of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, and allows the use of the Ukrainian army against civilians.

Let's note, the law came into force today, on February 24.
