Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko thanked the US for the support of budget’s project 2018, which presupposes allocation of 620 million dollars of help to Ukraine.
Earlier, the US Congress’ House of Representatives adopted the budget till September 30th 2018, when the current financial year terminates. According to data of Ukrainian embassy in Washington, the new budget presupposes increasing of spending on support of Ukraine. Particularly, the total volume of help for Ukraine amounts to 620, 7 million dollars, including 200 millions for military technical assistance. On Friday, the US president Donald Trump reported he had signed the budget.
“I am grateful to President Donald Trump and the US Congress for their support of the budget law, which presupposes the increase of spending for Ukrainian support in 2018… It is not just a strong and timely signal, which again demonstrated the unchanging two-party support of Ukraine’s development by means of democratic transformations, but a real, practical help in improving the defence potential of our country, when Ukrainian people protect their land and their independence,” wrote Poroshenko on his Facebook page.
Earlier, the US administration had already approved the supply of weapons to Kiev, including portable anti-tank missile systems Javelin. Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko reported, Kiev expects to receive weapons from the US in 2018.
