Parishioners attend festive liturgy in war-destroyed St. Iveron Monastery [Gallery]

The St. Iveron women's monastery near the former Donetsk airport, destroyed in the hostility’s course, opened its doors for parishioners this day. About a hundred citizens gathered here for a festive divine service in honour of the miraculous Iberian icon of the Mother of God.

Despite the monastery’s proximity to the capital's airport, parishioners gathered here for the holiday early in the morning. For their convenience, a bus was arranged; it was driving people to the holy shrine from the bus station located near the railway station.

At that, the church building hasn’t been fully restored so far, but today's worship took place under a partially renovated dome, which was greatly effected by Ukrainian shellings.
