In 2017, most cases of measles were registered in the Ivano-Frankovsk region - 637, Odessa - 526, Ternopol - 66 and Lvov - 35. This was reported by the Ministry of Health.
"Over seven months of this year in Ukraine, there were registered 1386 cases of measles, including in Kiev - 11 cases. For the same period in 2016 in Ukraine, there were 10 cases of measles, including in Kiev - 2," the report said.
The Ministry of Health noted that the rise in the incidence of measles was "predictable."
"Due to the low vaccination coverage in recent years, and given the epidemic situation in the European region as a whole, Ukraine's Health Ministry and WHO forecast a sharp increase in the incidence of measles in 2017," the ministry said.
