Lugansk defence: Situation Report, 04/13/17

The situation in the LPR responsibility zone becoming more stable.

For the last 24 hours, three ceasefire violations on the enemy’s part were recorded. Our units’ positions in Kalinovo locality underwent shelling. During the shelling, mortars, IFVs and small arms were applied. In total, 64 mortar shells and projectiles were launched onto the Republic’s territory.

We received the information about the events at the weapon ordnance warehouse in the Artemovsk locality’s area, which is the responsibility zone of the 53rd brigade that arrived at the ATO zone again. The soldiers of the brigade went to refill the vacuously shot away ammunition load without any documents.

The warehouse management rejected the request because of the documents absence. Thus, the developed conflict resulted in one soldier being shot in the leg.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces Command continues stepping up the prohibited weaponry near the contact line. Thus, in the Muratovo locality’s area, 51 km to the north-west from Lugansk, the high-angle mounting Strela-10 was detected.

The examining for the winter study period in the LPR People’s Militia units is ongoing. Apart from it, the preparation for the Victory Parade on May 9th is in full play.

We do not react to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ provocations, strictly preserving the ceasefire, and we are ready to fulfil the Agreements of the Tripartite Contact Group.

I address the AFU Command, evince your humanity on the threshold of Easter holidays and pay respect to the religion as the Orthodox and let civilian population visit commemorative places, situated right near the contact line.

Official representative of the LPR People’s Militia Lieutenant-Colonel Andrey Marochko,
