The industrial development of the gold ore deposit located in the territory of the Lugansk People's Republic may begin in 2018, said the Head of the Republic Igor Plotnitsky on air of the Lugansk 24 TV channel.
"I used to mention this a couple of times, but this year it has not happened just because funding was required elsewhere, and we have delayed this project a bit. I'll try to make sure that our [facility], let's call it a gold mine, is opened in 2018," the LPR Head was quoted as saying.
Plotnitsky noted that gold mining would not be super-profitable.
"Still, there will still be no profit made, but it's kind of an indicator for us that we have it and we can do it. Secondly, only exploration and mining works will show how big this load and placers are," he said.
