The LPR insists on launching full-scale crossing points in Stanitsa Luganskaya and Schastye first, and after that the opening of a checkpoint in Zolotoye will be possible, said the LPR Head Igor Plotnitsky.
"We need crossing points. Kiev, on the one hand, is speaking about launching them, but on the other, pursues the blockade and closure."
"So, we have defended our viewpoint: the main checkpoint should be in Stanitsa Luganskaya, then Schastye and only then Zolotoye. This is the order we shall pursue."
Currently there is only one official checkpoint at the contact line in the LPR area of responsibility in Donbass and it is accessible via the bridge in vicinity of Stanitsa Luganskaya. Only pedestrian traffic is possible there because of temporary conduit, as the bridge was blown up by Ukrainian forces. LPR has been continuously proposing to rebuild it.
Approximately six thousand people cross the bridge daily.
In November, the ICRC said it is to provide and tool up trailer houses to set up warming centers at the LPR crossing points.
Head of the Emergency Ministry Sergey Ivanushkin reported earlier that the bridge has been inspected, estimates and construction plans prepared.
