Kiev will make a howling mistake on the disrupting of the Minsk agreements if it finally passes the law on the reintegration of Donbass, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
"I think that the one who will take the first step in breaking the Minsk accords will make a howling mistake. In fact, the Kiev authorities are one step away from this mistake if they finally accept the law on reintegration, which they have now passed in the second reading," Lavrov said in an interview with the program "Political Actors" with Nailya Asker-zade on the Russia-1 TV channel.
He added that, in his opinion, the West is strengthening its opinion on the need to bring to senses the president of Ukraine Pyotr Poroshenko and those who are with him in the leadership of Ukraine regarding the provocative bill on the reintegration of Donbass, as well as the law on education.
"According to our information, European emissaries who visit Kiev send such messages and strongly recommend to understand the counterproductive nature of such approaches and to make the necessary corrections of their actions. They cannot say this publicly yet, but I think if the current regime in Kiev behaves the same, there will soon be public statements, because Europe is very wary of the processes that are taking place in Ukraine, and especially with regard to a sharp increase in the influence of radicals and neo-Nazis," the Foreign Minister explained.
