The Ukrainian parliament does not plan in the near future to consider the issue of holding local elections in the Donbass territories uncontrolled by Ukraine. This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrey Paruby.
"The issue of holding elections in uncontrolled territories is not on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine today," Paruby said, adding that "without the fulfillment of security conditions, there can be no question of elections."
The Head of the Rada explained that Kiev will not agree to hold elections there until it gets control of the border with Russia, and also until there is a "complete ceasefire."
