Kiev protesters burn Russian Federation's flag outside Verkhovna Rada

Mass fights between participants of the protest action of the Osvobozhdeniye [Liberation] movement, which supports the adoption of the law on the so-called reintegration of Donbass, and representatives of the security forces took place near the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Tuesday. The protesters burned the Russian flag and set fire to the tires outside one of the entrances to the parliament.

The police tried to prevent the action by using tear gas. In response, the protesters started throwing cobblestones and tires. One policeman was injured. One of the participants of the action was taken to the police for violation of order, the press service of the Kiev police reported. According to them, "the situation in the Rada area is still controllable." The fire brigades arrived at the place and put out the fire.

Nevertheless, representatives of the Osvobozhdeniye movement headed by deputies of the Rada Semyon Semenchenko and Yegor Sobolev do not intend to stop the rally outside the building of the Ukrainian parliament. There have been brought together and reinforced units of police and military personnel of the National Guard.

Today, the Verkhovna Rada has begun the second, final reading for the consideration of the draft law on the reintegration of Donbass, which assigns the status of the "occupied territories" to the region, and to Russia – the status of the "occupier."
