Ukrainian officials are counting on the help of their European colleagues to promote information on the progress made by Ukraine, said Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klimpush-Tsintsadze.
"We need help in communicating good news from Ukraine," Klimpush-Tsintsadze quoted as saying by the Internet publication "European Pravda."
According to her, Ukraine needs EU assistance for further rapprochement with the European Union.
The Vice Prime Minister said that due to the lack of communication of good news, Ukraine sometimes has an unjustifiably negative image, which leads to resistance of EU citizens towards further rapprochement with Kiev.
"Good, sometimes even boring news should be heard by European society. Society, not politicians. We know that the bad news without any help quickly find their way to the media, but we have no way to push through the positive news," the Vice PM explained.
Kiev for a long time sought to provide Ukraine with prospects for membership in the EU. The Ukrainian party insisted on including this remark in the association agreement, but this did not happen. The Ukrainian leadership constantly declares that the course towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration is unchanged, and expects that in the future the country will still become a member of the EU.
