JCCC coordinates ceasefire to repair chemical plant dam after 1,5-year talks

Representatives of the Russian Federation and the Donetsk People's Republic to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) have received security guarantees for resumption of work on the emergency dam at the Dzerzhinsk Phenolic Plant from the AFU for the first time in a year and a half, DPR Representation Chief to the JCCC Ruslan Yakubov states. 

"Finally, through lengthy negotiations with the contiguous side through Russian representatives, it was, nevertheless, possible to obtain from Kiev a written confirmation of their obligations to fulfill all the necessary conditions for the resumption of restoration work on the dam of the phenolic plant near Gorlovka. We put forward a number of conditions, and the Ukrainian side, nevertheless, agreed," Yakubov said.

It is noted that the beginning of the work is planned for today with the participation of the JCCC and the OSCE.
