Integration processes between DPR and Russia gain momentum – envoy

The process of integration between the Donetsk People's Republic and the Russian Federation has been launched and is gaining momentum. This opinion was expressed by the head of the DPR delegation at the Minsk talks, Chairman of the People's Council Denis Pushilin.

"Following the course on the economic blockade and the external isolation of territories beyond its control, as well as with perseverance worthy of better application, avoiding the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the official Kiev in fact predetermined the nature of our actions to ensure our own security and economic independence. Thus, the integration processes with the Russian Federation are launched and gaining momentum, and their results have already been noted not only by our allies," Pushilin said.

He added that, developing relations with the Russian Federation, the DPR has unilaterally started implementing Article 8 of the Ukrainian law "On the special order of local self-government in certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions," which provides for the development of cross-border cooperation aimed at expanding and deepening good neighbourly relations with the administrative-territorial units of the Russian Federation.

The integration process of the DPR with the Russian Federation was announced on March 17, 2017 in the Livadia Palace (Yalta, the Republic of Crimea) since the creation of the Russia-Donbass Integration Committee, whose activities are aimed at strengthening the process of humanitarian, social, cultural integration of Donbass and the Russian Federation. On December 8 last year, the "Russian Center" was created, which is now headed by Denis Pushilin.
