At a meeting with journalists in Munich on February 17, President of Finland Sauli Niinistö said that his country is ready to join the UN peacekeeping mission in Ukraine if an appropriate decision is reached.
"This is one of the most serious problems in Europe, therefore, if there is even a small opportunity to solve the crisis, Finland should take part in resolving this crisis," Niinistö said.
Earlier, Sweden declared its readiness to participate in the peacekeeping mission in Donbass, if Russia and the West agree to this. Belarus also announced its readiness to send peacekeepers to the territory of Donbass.
