Ukraine risks to stay without 600 million euros of macro-financial assistance from the EU, unless the Verkhovna Rada repeals the moratorium on the export of raw timber, said the head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Hugh Mingarelli.
"If Ukraine does not lift the ban on exports of round timber, 600 million euros - the third tranche of macro-financial assistance - will be lost. The decision will be made before the end of this year, which means that you must receive money in early 2018. But again, there is still six or seven conditions in the field of fighting corruption, social payments for settlers, in the field of trade, energy, which have never been implemented by Ukraine. If things remain the same, you will not receive money," the ambassador said in an interview with the Ukrainian newspaper Segodnya.
