DPR mountaineers wave Republic's flag on Kilimanjaro top

A team of mountain climbers from the DPR have completed today the ascension on the highest peak in Africa – Mount Kilimanjaro, reported the press service of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism of the Republic.

"Today the DPR national team for mountaineering under the leadership of the president of the Federation of Mountaineering Oleg Paly climbed the highest point in Africa – the peak of Kilimanjaro (5,895 m)," the department noted.

According to the Ministry of Sports, the republican climbers waved the flag of the Donetsk People's Republic at the mountain top.

Let us recall that the project DPR Flag on Tops of the World has been actualized since 2015. During this time climbers have raised the banner of the country to the highest point of Europe Elbrus, 5,000 metres high Kazbek in the Caucasus, Aconcagua in Argentina, Lenin Peak in Kirghizia and others.

Kilimanjaro is a potentially active stratovolcano in Africa, located in the north-east of Tanzania. It is the highest point of the mainland – 5,895 metres above sea level. The first ascension on it was accomplished in 1889.
