DPR Ministry of Defense demands that Kiev returns remains of soldiers killed in 2014-15

The DPR Ministry of Defense appealed to the Head of the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Fiona Frazer with a request to influence the Ukrainian side in the issue of the transfer of the DPR soldiers' remains, who died in 2014-2015. This was reported by the head of the department for POWs, MIA and deceased of the Defense Ministry apparatus Oksana Solyonaya.

"At today's meeting with Fiona Frazer, we discussed the unhindered return by the Ukrainian side of the remains of our fighters who died in the fighting and from torture in 2014 and 2015," she said.

She noted that, according to official data, on the territory of Ukraine at present there are remains of at least 19 bodies. All of them are buried in the cemeteries of Dnepropetrovsk and Slavyansk, occupied by Ukrainian troops.

"For our part, whenever we find the remains of the AFU soldiers, we transfer them to Ukraine as soon as possible. We cannot get the bodies of our fighters, the Ukrainian side always has some delays and bureaucracy," Solyonaya stressed.
