DPR military tribunal sentences Ukrainian spy to 11 years – State Security Ministry

The DPR military tribunal found Ukrainian citizen Oleg Chulga guilty of espionage for Kiev forces and sentenced him to 11 years, reported the press service of the Republic’s State Security Ministry (MGB) on Tuesday.

"On the basis of the gathered materials exposing Chulga's espionage activity and his frank confession had been made on December 2, 2016 the military tribunal passed a guilty verdict under DPR Criminal Code Article 321 and sentenced him to 11 years in prison," the press service stated.

Chulga helped DPR defenders in Slavyansk in 2014, then he was recruited by the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) agents.

He maintained contact with three SBU officers, who received sensitive information from him and encharged him with tasks to gather information on deployment of military hardware and DPR defenders' disposition. Chulga was detained in February 2015.

In October 2016, three persons were given prison terms in DPR for espionage for Kiev.
