The aid program for residents of the occupied territories of Donbass, announced by the Heads of the DPR and LPR on Friday, is of an exclusively humanitarian character, stated the Acting Foreign Affairs' Minister of the Donetsk People's Republic Natalia Nikonorova.
"We are not erecting 'walls' and we are not creating a blockade — this program envisages only humanitarian purposes and tasks. We are looking forward to unite, create and develop," emphasized the head of the diplomatic department in her statement.
Nikonorova explained that the program's chief objective is to support and render assistance to socially unprotected categories of Donbass residents.
"Social payments and grants are provided by this program for those who really are in a rough situation or should receive appropriate assistance by right, as, for example, veterans of the Great Patriotic War. The program includes not only financial aid, but also a set of social and cultural projects which will help to connect the families disunited by the conflict, to re-establish the weakening cultural and social ties, to reconsolidate the civil society of Donbass."
It's worth reminding that the beginning of the humanitarian aid program for residents of the Donbass territories temporary occupied by Ukrainian troops was announced by the Heads of the DPR and LPR Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky this day, on Friday.
