DPR Command reports situation aggravation on contact line

The situation near the contact line in Donbas has aggravated, the Ukrainian forces have intensified shelling of the Donetsk People's Republic, Eduard Basurin, the Vice-Commander of the DPR Operational Command reported on Wednesday.

Earlier, the DPR Representation to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire reported 12 violations of the ceasefire on the part of the Ukrainian forcers over the past day.

"The situation on the contact line has sharply deteriorated over the past 24 hours, and there is observed an increase in shelling by the Ukrainian troops," Basurin said.

According to him, three houses were damaged as a result of the enemy shelling in Dokuchayevsk and Zaitsevo settlements of the DPR. In addition, a cemetery in the suburbs of Gorlovka fell under bombardment. The Ukrainian forces engaged fire, among others, with 122-mm artillery.

"Destroyed a cemetery in Zaitsevo. All night long, targeted projectiles and shells destroyed the graves of the deceased. Even the fact of today’s arrival in Donetsk of the OSCE SMM Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug does not stop the Ukrainian occupants from shelling our settlements," Basurin added.
