The DPR representatives in the Minsk humanitarian subgroup managed achieve the prisoners’ exchange list expansion on the Ukrainian part after 5 months of negotiations, report the DPR Human Rights Ombudsperson, Daria Morozova.
“Official Kiev purposely spins out time to postpone the exchange and then accuse Donetsk of the delay. However, after five months of negotiations we have achieved certain success. Presently, Ukrainian representatives are ready to transfer 203 people. Earlier that number comprised 156 people,” said Morozova.
Meanwhile, the Republic continues insisting on preserving the “all for all” exchange formula. In that connection the DPR Human Rights Ombudsperson called on Ukraine to stop dividing prisoners into categories.
“I would like to underline that 80 percent of Ukrainian prisoners are accused of particularly serious crimes, but we do not divide people into lists and categories. On the part of the Donetsk People's Republic, all those held, who were transferred to the Ukrainian side, are procedurally cleared," said the DPR Ombudsperson.
