Donetsk Defense: Situation Report, 04/13/2017

Over the past day, there were registered 57 occasions of ceasefire violations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Republic’s territory was fired with heavy artillery, tanks, mortars, as well as infantry fighting vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, antiaircraft guns, grenade launchers and small arms, forbidden by the Minsk Agreements.

The enemy applied heavy artillery to attack Spartak locality, and tanks – against Leninskoye locality. Also, out 491 mortar shells launched by Kiev terrorists onto the Republic’s territory, 119 shells hit the Avdeyevka industrial zone, 69 hit the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, where three residential houses were damaged on Belozyorskaya St., 13 and Shevchenko St., 21 and 24; a direct hit of one of 13 mortar shells, launched by the AFU onto Zaitsevo locality, destroyed one residential house on Brusilov St.,14.

The recent increase in the number of the AFU shellings has been caused by the arrival of a commission from Kiev at the ‘ATO’ zone, demanding from the units’ commanders to demonstrate their readiness to continue the genocide in Donbass.

Two servicemen of the DPR army perished and one more was wounded in deterrence of the enemy onslaught.

Yesterday, in the course of a trip to the Lugansk region, the Ukrainian ‘president’ said that 69 Ukrainian military personnel had been killed and 420 got wounded in the ‘ATO’ zone since the turn of 2017.

According to the ‘ATO’ headquarters, 75 servicemen were killed and 495 were wounded over this period. There is evident either inconsistency of the information submitted to the ‘president’, or Poroshenko does not care about the number of losses, even if it means dozens.

Poroshenko made another ‘grandiose’ statement, having said that all the tank units in the ‘ATO’ zone were in full combat readiness. It’s a true sensation for the 5th army in Europe. In fact, against the backdrop of the catastrophic state of monetary provision of the AFU, and out-dated armoured vehicles, this statement is nothing but another attempt to raise the rating and prestige of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Our soldiers, defending their homeland, do not think about the world ranking, but are pleased to realize that their hard work will have been successfully restraining for three years already the onslaught of one of the ‘most powerful armies of Europe’ belonging to Ukraine’s terrorist ruling clique, banned in the DPR.
