The situation in the Donetsk People's Republic remains tense. The enemy continued shelling the territory of the Republic, engaging weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy fired 17 mortar shells of 120-mm and 82-mm calibres at the areas of Dokuchayevsk, Spartak settlements, and Abakumov mine. In addition, the fire was launched with various types of grenade launchers and small arms.
In the Gorlovka direction, the enemy engaged IFV weapons, various types of grenade launchers and small arms at the area of Zaitsevo settlement.
In total, seven violations of the ceasefire regime by the AFU were registered for the past day.
According to the information available, engineering and demining units of the AFU carry out mine laying at civil infrastructure facilities in a number of settlements in the Kiev-held territory. These works were confirmed in the settlements of Volnovakha, Krasnogorovka, Maryinka, Avdeyevka, Dzerzhinsk and Svetlodarsk. Ukrainian mine-engineers plant landmines near water and gas pipelines, power stations and power transmission lines.
It cannot be ruled out that the command of the so-called ATO is preparing to undermine these facilities in order to accuse the DPR of shelling vital civilian objects and to discredit the Republic’s leadership in the eyes of the world public during the negotiations at the international level. Let me remind you that another meeting will take place in Minsk today. Besides, a meeting of the heads of the Normandy Format diplomatic departments is scheduled for this week in Munich, and the arrival in Donbass of the Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Mission, Alexander Hug, is expected.
Previously, the Ukrainian military command had already several times organized various informational stovepiping, staged actions and provocations, and simply unjustifiably accused our Armed Forces of "insidious" shelling on the eve and during international meetings devoted to the conflict in Donbass. A striking example is yesterday's statement by the press center of the so-called ATO headquarters, spreading false information about the AFU positions’ shelling in the area of the Svetlodarsk Bulge from 122-mm artillery. At the same time, in a number of areas near the contact line, in particular in Novoluganskoye, film crews of Ukrainian journalists continue staying on duty under the guidance of propagandists from the so-called ATO headquarters, ready as usual to present their audience with half-truths, or complete lies.
We hope that, information being made public about the AFU’s intentions to carry out another provocation, the Ukrainian side will refuse to implement criminal plans against the civilian population, which the armed forces of Ukraine allegedly defend.
