Donetsk Defense: Situation Report, 02/11/2018

The situation in the Donetsk People's Republic remains tense.

In the Donetsk direction, the areas of Dokuchayevsk, the Petrovsky district of Donetsk were targeted with 25 mortar shells of 120-mm and 82-mm calibres, as well as various grenade launchers and small arms.

In the Gorlovka direction, the AFU hit the area of southern Verkhnetoretskoe with five 82-mm mortar shells.

In the Mariupol direction, settlements of Kominternovo, Lenonskoye were subjected to shelling. The foe applied mortars of 82-mm calibre, having fired seven shells at the localities, also applying grenade launchers and small arms.

A total of seven violations of the cease-fire regime by the AFU were recorded in the course of the past 24 hours.

Unfortunately, the past day did not pass without losses. As a result of mortar shelling, one serviceman of the DPR Army was severely wounded.

Some Western countries continue to support Kiev's aspirations to unleash active hostilities in Donbass. The arrival of foreign instructors in Artyomovsk is noted, under the guidance of which it is planned to conduct training sessions with the personnel of the 54 separate mechanized brigades for conducting military operations in urban conditions, as well as complete cleansing of settlements.

Not only the population of the Donetsk People's Republic suffers from actions of the Ukrainian army, but also residents living on its part, occupied by the AFU. Our reconnaissance revealed the position of a mortar platoon from the 30 separate mechanized brigade on the outskirts of Maryinka, from which positions the Petrovsky district of Donetsk is regularly targeted. Ukrainian servicemen do not allow in the area repair brigades arriving to restore the supply of electricity, as a result of which several hundred inhabitants of Maryinka remain without light.

According to the information available to us, the SBU headship in the Donetsk region under the pretext of conducting anti-diversionary preventive measures intends to appropriate the property of both private entrepreneurs and personal property of ordinary citizens. In addition, simultaneous work is being carried out for the forced recruitment of residents, living in the territory occupied by the Ukrainian army, who have relatives residing in the Donetsk People's Republic.

For this purpose, units of the National Guard of Ukraine arrived in several settlements of the Volnovakhsky district under the leadership of the SBU. As practice shows, such special measures pose a threat not only to the property of citizens, but also to their health, and sometimes life.
