Donbass reintegration bill to be considered closer to year's end

The Verkhovna Rada will consider in the second reading the bill on the reintegration of Donbass closer to the New Year, said on Monday the representative of the Ukrainian president in parliament Irina Lutsenko before the meeting of the pro-presidential faction "Bloc of Pyotr Poroshenko."

"They (the lawyers of the scientific and expert department of the parliament - ed.) say they are very busy, there are a lot of reforms going on, there are many laws that need to be processed, therefore, until the end of this week, provided that on Wednesday they find a consolidated position, it will be considered closer, perhaps, to the New Year," Lutsenko said.

According to her, all parties to the political process are interested in the document was adopted this year.

In December, it is planned to hold two plenary weeks in parliament from 5 to 8 and from 19 to 22 December. Earlier it was expected that the finalized text of the law would be put on the second reading for consideration in mid-October, but the deputies did not consider the document.

Earlier, Lutsenko said that the relevant committee of the National Security and Defense Council had received more than 2,000 amendments to the bill on the reintegration of Donbass, the document in the second reading could be considered in the parliament in mid-November. According to the calendar plan, the Rada will meet for the next plenary week from November 14 to 17.
