Strategic unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the US Air Force RQ-4A Global Hawk with the call sign UAVGH000 has had many hours of reconnaissance flights along the demarcation line in Donbass on Sunday, July 16.
During the flight the long-distance drone cruised north to south along the contact line between Ukraine and the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republic (DPR and LPR), but did not cross it. The drone-scout flew at the altitude of 16.7 thousand metres.
Taking into account the drone's capability to conduct reconnaissance at a distance of up to 300 km, the RQ-4A Global Hawk could observe the whole territory of the DPR, as well as the border areas of Russia.
The device took from the Sigonella airbase in Sicily and entered the airspace of Ukraine over the Nikolayev region. Then the UAV headed towards Mariupol. After completing the assignment in Donbass, it left the airspace of Ukraine northwards from Moldova.
Let's recall that an American unmanned vehicle made similar reconnaissance flights in early February.
Notably, foreign monitoring of the situation in Donbass is not limited to the flights of American drones. On February 3, residents of Donetsk video-recorded a hurried escape of the OSCE staff from the city. Before that, the mission's representatives stood out accusing the DPR and concealing information about the movement of Ukrainian armoured vehicles.
